Cerebral Palsy Alliance
- Client: Paynter Dixon Constructions
- Principal: Northern Contracting Group
- Contract Superintendant: Adrian Dann
- Date: August – September 2011
The project required Northern Contracting Group to bulk excavate to 290mm average depth to allow for the construction of a flexible road pavement for an 1100m2 carpark. The new pavement profile consisted of 150mm DGS40, 100mm DGB20 (see figure 1) and 40mm AC10 Asphalt. The excavated site material was transported to an area offsite with a 10t articulated dump truck and compacted with the use of a 7t smoothdrum roller in layers.
The carpark site located in Tuggerah was contained within the property boundary of the Proposed Cerebral Palsy Alliance facility. The principle contractor was constructing the new building during the car park construction. Due to difficult site access and building works in progress all imported material was delivered in Rigid trucks (maximum 12t loads) to ensure all contractors safety and significantly reduce the chance of a pedestrian incident Northern Contracting Group undertook the kerb and gutter and kerb only works, wheels stops and car parking line marking in addition to the asphalt surfacing work.
